BIR: First female president in 75 years

Suzie Bourage became the first woman to be elected President of the Bureau of International Recycling in Amsterdam.

She succeeds Tom Bird, who is stepping down after four years. In her inaugural speech, she emphasised that she wants to promote more women in positions of responsibility in the BIR and the industry.

The new treasurer is Dhawal Shah, who replaces Andy Wahl. At the same time, the association announced that the long-time Director of Trade and Environment, Ross Bartley, is retiring.
