The aim is to support traceability, regulatory compliance and informed decision-making along the value chain.
The digital product passport documents the origin of each coil, including casthouse, casting date, batch number and rolling mill. It also specifies total recycled content, the carbon footprint expressed in kilograms of CO₂ per kilogram of aluminium, the detailed input mix and the chemical composition. By linking production and material data in one system, speira.ID enables consistent and comparable information across products.
Access to speira.ID is provided via Speira’s customer portal. After logging in, customers can select individual coils and download the corresponding digital product passports. Bulk downloads are available to support larger data requirements. An integrated data flow ensures that the information reflects the current production status. The service can be incorporated into existing supply agreements to support transparency and documentation requirements.
With customer consent, a reduced version of the digital product passport can be made publicly accessible. This version can be retrieved via a QR code, for example printed on a finished product, and does not require login credentials. The approach is intended to facilitate information sharing with downstream partners and end customers, while maintaining control over sensitive data.
Speira positions speira.ID as a contribution to improved traceability and material stewardship in aluminium recycling and processing. By making material composition and origin transparent, the system is intended to support closed-loop recycling, sustainability reporting and upcoming regulatory requirements related to product transparency and carbon reporting.
