The opening keynote will address the restoration of competitiveness in the European plastics recycling sector and will be delivered by the European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy together with the President of Plastics Recyclers Europe.
The 2026 edition marks the tenth anniversary of the event. The two-day conference will be held across two theatres and will feature keynote sessions, panel discussions, technical presentations and sponsored contributions. The programme focuses on policy developments, technological innovation and market conditions affecting plastics recycling in Europe.
Confirmed speakers represent a broad range of stakeholders from across the plastics value chain, including brand owners, polymer producers, recyclers, equipment manufacturers and industry associations. Presentations and discussions will address the current regulatory framework in the European Union and its impact on competitiveness, with particular attention given to ensuring fair market conditions for recycled plastics.
Further sessions will examine how policy objectives can be translated into operational practice and how investment conditions can be improved to support innovation and industrial growth. Market-related discussions will explore opportunities and challenges in different application sectors, with the aim of increasing circularity across multiple industries.
Polyurethane recycling will be included in the conference programme for the first time, reflecting growing interest in recycling solutions for this material stream. Additional panel discussions will focus on investment driven by innovation, voluntary commitments to support demand for recycled plastics, security of feedstock supply, traceability in international plastics trade and the identification of misleading environmental claims.
The conference programme also incorporates the annual Plastics Recycling Awards Europe ceremony, which recognises developments and achievements within the European plastics recycling industry.
Sponsors of the event will contribute technical papers covering advances in recycling technologies and circular economy solutions. Gold sponsors include ExxonMobil and NGR World. Silver sponsors include Eastman, FIMIC, Axens, SK Functional Polymer, Schneider, Indaver, Trinseo, SACMI, Lindner and VTT Research Finland.
