Aluminium sorting with LIBS upgrade
The Steinert PLASMAX system for aluminium sorting has been further developed based on operational data from existing installations. The upgrade enables the separation of finer aluminium fractions by alloy composition, expanding the range of applications in metal recycling.
Solutions for complex metal streams
With the Steinert SteelMaster Compact, the company introduces a system designed for metal streams with small particle sizes. Applications include the cleaning of iron concentrates, separation processes in copper concentrates and the treatment of mixed metal fractions from shredder processes and WEEE recycling.
Colour sorting of mixed metal granulates
The Steinert MSort AK chute sorting system enables colour-based separation of metal particles in the size range from 0.5 to 60 mm. The system is also used to clean mixed material streams and to recover defined metal fractions.
AI-based separation of food-grade PET
The separation of food-grade and non-food PET presents a technical challenge due to identical chemical properties. The AI-based software Steinert Intelligent Object.Identifier (IOI) enables object recognition beyond conventional sensor limits and supports precise differentiation of packaging types. The technology has been applied in industrial environments, including projects with Cirrec.
Processing of construction and demolition waste
Sorting solutions for mineral fractions will also be presented. The combination of magnetic separation and sensor-based sorting enables the recovery of materials such as concrete, bricks and asphalt. The integration of colour sorting technologies extends the separation capabilities for construction and demolition waste.
Detection of heat-resistant glass
A new development in the Steinert MSort system allows the detection and removal of heat-resistant glass and ceramic contaminants without relying on X-ray technology. The system combines material detection and colour sorting in a single process step and can be integrated into existing sorting lines.
Lifecycle services for sorting systems
In addition to technology solutions, Steinert provides services covering commissioning, maintenance and system optimisation. These services are designed to ensure operational availability and to adapt sorting systems to changing requirements over time. Visitors to IFAT 2026 can obtain information on service offerings and modernisation options at the Steinert stand.
