Lindner introduces fourth-generation Micromat series

Lindner has unveiled the Micromat IV, the fourth generation of its single-shaft shredders for plastics recycling. The new series features an energy-efficient drive system with 97 % efficiency and a modular rotor design that allows quick changes between pointed and step knives – providing high material flexibility for a wide range of input streams.

At the core of the new Micromat generation is a synchronous reluctance motor of energy efficiency class IE6, operating without rare earth elements. The motor’s low winding and bearing losses contribute to durability and reduced energy consumption.

An automatic belt tensioning system keeps the drive at its optimal operating point. If a foreign object is detected, hydraulic pressure is released to protect the drive unit. The belt can be changed quickly by the operator without external service support, and an automatic run-in function ensures correct tensioning after replacement.

The new Multicut rotor offers flexibility for various plastic applications. Knife configurations can be changed without replacing the entire rotor, allowing fast adaptation to different input materials. Four knife arrangements are available.

The screw-mounted knife design eliminates welding and allows a full knife change within approximately five hours. This structure simplifies maintenance and improves adaptability to changing recycling requirements.

The cutting gap between rotor and counter knives can now be adjusted or the counter knives replaced from outside the machine – without opening the maintenance flap or interrupting operation. Additional updates include active counter-knife cooling and a simplified control interface with intuitive menu navigation.

The new Micromat series is available in four versions with different torque and power ratings, tailored to specific plastic recycling applications.
