Alba Group reduces its Board of Directors

With effect from 30 April 2014, Joachim Wagner (47) is stepping down from the top management level of the Alba Group and its subsidiary, Alba SE for personal reasons.

Since 2009, Wagner played a leading role at Alba SE and was responsible for the Steel and Metal Recycling segment as COO from 2010. In October 2011, Wagner was additionally appointed to the Board of Directors of the holding company Alba Group plc & Co. KG where he initially held responsibility for the Steel and Metal Recycling segment and, from April 2013, held responsibility together with Martin Becker-Rethmann for the Waste and Metals segment. After the switch to a monistic system in July 2013, Wagner took over the role of Managing Director and Member of the Administrative Board of Alba SE.

In future, Dr Eric Schweitzer, CEO of Alba Group plc & Co. KG, will be responsible for the Waste and Metals segment. He will be supported by Rob Nansink, Member of the Administrative Board and, henceforth, sole Managing Director of Alba SE. Other responsibilities on the Board of Directors will remain unchanged. The Board of Directors of the holding company Alba Group plc & Co. KG will therefore comprise five members from now in instead of the six at present.

Dr. Axel Schweitzer, CEO of Alba Group and Chairman of the Administrative Board of Alba SE: „We would like to sincerely thank Joachim Wagner for his outstanding work over the years. His contribution to the further development of our group of companies as a provider of recycling and raw materials, as well as his commitment to the tight integration of Steel and Metal Recycling with the Waste Management and Recycling units, was of vital importance. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
