The order follows the commissioning of a first washing line that has been in operation since the first quarter of 2024. With the installation of the additional line, the site’s processing capacity for post-consumer PET bottles will increase to a daily output of around 200 metric tons of rPET flakes.
The existing washing line processes post-consumer PET bottles into recycled PET flakes for further use in plastics processing. According to the companies involved, operational experience with the first installation formed the basis for the decision to install a second system with comparable technical specifications. The new line is designed with the same core process layout and throughput parameters as the existing plant in order to ensure consistent operation and scalable capacity expansion.
The process configuration includes forced-feeding granulators, a batch-operated hot washing stage and hydrocyclone-based density separation. While the overall design of the second line follows the configuration of the first installation, selected process stages have been adapted to reflect operating data and variations in the composition of the input material.
One modification concerns the pre-sorting stage, where processing capacity will increase to 8 tonnes per hour. For this purpose, Herbold Meckesheim will supply a debaler and a washing drum that integrates wet and dry processing sections within a single unit. The adjustment is intended to stabilise material preparation before the washing process and support continuous throughput.
Delivery of the second washing line is currently being prepared. Initial shipments are scheduled for early March 2026. Installation and commissioning at the Kırklareli site are planned to follow shortly thereafter. Herbold Meckesheim will coordinate logistics, carry out on-site installation and support system start-up and operator training during commissioning.
