The report "Europe's Battery Reckoning" by Circunomics is intended to show how a practical implementation of the EU Battery Regulation can succeed.

The publication, entitled Building a healthy circular economy: Integrating chemicals, products and waste under the Circular Economy Act, argues that insufficient consideration of chemicals regulation within the planned legislation would result in substantial health-related and economic costs.

The analysis shows that agriculture, energy and transport are among the sectors most exposed to climate-related risks. Europe is currently the fastest-warming continent, and extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, heatwaves and wildfires are already causing significant economic losses. Average annual damage from such events has reached approximately EUR 40-50 billion in recent years.

The partnership aims to improve coordination between the two organisations and to strengthen joint representation of recycling industry interests within European policy frameworks. As part of this initiative, a Nordic working group will be established to support structured and continuous dialogue.

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection - Bureau of Sustainable Materials Management  has issued a Written Determination Permit for the processing of waste solar panels and photovoltaic components. This approval follows the Air Quality Control Permit granted on January 5, 2026, completing the permitting process required for facility commissioning.
