Euric calls for solutions that keep recycling markets innovative

In advance of the vote in the ENVI Committee on the circular economy package, european recycling federation Euric asks for a boost in recycling, competition and thus innovate recycling markets.

Euric list three points that matter the most for the recycling industry. The federation asks for a definition of municipal waste, that remains neutral in terms of the status of the operator managing the waste, preserves the quantity criterion and excludes mixed waste from small businesses, office buildings and public buildings. It also calls for a definition of sorting in reference to its objective. And finally Euric wants to keep the measuring of recycling targets at the output of a sorting facility or at the input of a recycling facility.

The members of the ENVI Committee will vote on the circular economy package on Tuesday.
