Expansion of value chain activities
The collaboration includes the treatment of metal fractions generated during black mass production as well as closer coordination in logistics for end-of-life batteries. TSR integrates upstream process steps into its existing activities and extends its role within the battery recycling value chain.
TSR strengthens material cycles
Through its investment company BLC, a joint venture with Rhenus Automotive, TSR assumes responsibility for dismantling and discharging end-of-life batteries. The company contributes its processing capabilities for metal fractions and electronic components, logistics solutions for battery transport and a Europe-wide network of certified sites.
BASF expands recycling network
BASF operates a black mass production facility at its Schwarzheide site in Germany. The cooperation extends BASF’s recycling network to additional markets and complements existing activities in battery recycling across Europe.
Focus on circular raw materials
The partnership aims to retain battery materials within European value chains and support their reintegration into industrial processes. By linking dismantling, processing and logistics, the companies are expanding structures for EV battery recycling Europe and strengthening the availability of secondary raw materials.
