Funded under the PRIMA programme, the project will explore applications such as insect meal for animal feed, natural olive extracts for additives, sustainable packaging from olive residues, and biogas production from agricultural waste. The aim is to establish new value chains while reducing environmental impacts.
One of the central goals is to achieve at least a 25 % reduction in food losses and waste, contributing to EU sustainability targets and strengthening resilience in the Mediterranean agri-food sector.
