World crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association was 161.7 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2021, a 3.3% increase compared to July 2020.

Irish recycling company Re-Gen Waste has signed a contract which will see the Northern Ireland company supplying 100,000 tonnes of refuse derived fuel to Oslo. The three-year contract with Fortum is for its combined heat and power facility at Klemestrud in the Norwegian capital.
