While there is still a dispute about how many wind turbines we need and where they should be located, many wind turbines in operation are already approaching the end of their service life in the coming years. On behalf of the Federal Environment Agency, EY Law, EY GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft and TU Dortmund University describe in the study "Development of a concept and measures to ensure good practice in the dismantling and recycling of wind turbines" how this dismantling can be made as sustainable as possible.

In its report "Shifting the public's focus from recycling to waste prevention - how do we move people up the waste hierarchy?", the environmental organisation Keep Britain Tidy points out that recycling is currently seen by the majority as the best environmental option. The report shows how the focus can be shifted to waste prevention.

Plastic waste remains a major problem - especially when it comes to the question of how best to treat it. In its technical report "Environmental and economic assessment of plastics waste recycling - a comparison of mechanical, physical, chemical recycling and energy recovery of plastic waste", the Joint Research Centre compared different recycling processes and energy recovery. However, the study does not come to a final conclusion.

The report deals specifically with three elements of e-commerce: shipping packaging practice, logistics including the last mile and returns management. For these three areas, possible approaches to greening have been developed. In addition, three scenarios with different degrees of implementation were considered.
