Recycling of steel packaging in Europe has reached a new all-time high of 76%, announces APEAL, the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging.
This record rate, which represents data from 2014, confirms steel as Europe’s most recycled packaging material for the tenth consecutive year and sees the recycling rate of steel packaging pull further away from that of other packaging materials.
Alexander Mohr, secretary general of APEAL, said: “Steel has a number of inherent qualities that have contributed significantly to making it Europe’s most recycled packaging material, bringing us ever closer to a circular economy."

In einer gemeinsamen Stellungnahme weisen die dualen Systembetreiber BellandVision, Reclay, RKD Recycling Kontor Dual, ELS - Europäische LizenzierungsSysteme, Landbell, Zentek und Noventiz die Vorwürfe der Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt zurück.
Zurzeit befindet sich der vom Bundesumweltministerium erarbeitete Referentenentwurf der Gewerbeabfallverordnung in der Abstimmung mit den anderen Bundesministerien. Er ist nach der Anhörung der betroffenen Kreise nochmals verändert worden. Diese geänderte Fassung trifft jedoch beim bvse immer noch nicht auf Zustimmung.
