The buckets process bulky and mixed waste directly at the loading stage before material enters downstream sorting, screening, recycling, or energy recovery systems. According to the company, the approach can simplify material handling and improve process efficiency.
Integrated pre-shredding during loading
The TANA Multi Waste Buckets are designed to reduce operating costs by integrating pre-shredding into the loader attachment. This eliminates the need for a separate shredder, including its power supply, feeding system, and maintenance requirements.
Tana states that the integrated concept can lower fuel consumption, reduce servicing needs, and decrease the number of wear parts on site. It can also reduce internal material transport and additional handling steps.
Eetu Tuovinen, Product Marketing Manager for shredders at Tana Oy, says the system moves pre-shredding directly into the loading phase and allows operators to simplify waste handling operations.
Installation on wheel loaders and handlers
The TANA MWB is designed for wheel loaders and material handlers. The company describes the system as a plug-and-play attachment that does not require an additional drain line and can be installed on a wide range of carrier machines.
According to Tana, the buckets can process up to 90 cubic metres of material per hour and produce a particle size of approximately 300 to 400 millimetres. The company says this can improve material flow into downstream treatment processes while reducing wear on secondary equipment.
Three-axle shredding system
The TANA MWB uses a three-axle design intended to maintain continuous material flow during shredding. The middle axle operates at a higher speed, while the upper and lower axles provide higher torque.
The buckets also include bearing protection, axe-shaped blades, and a self-cleaning structure intended to reduce material wrapping and simplify maintenance.
Two models for different loader classes
Both bucket models share the same technical concept and differ mainly in capacity and compatible carrier size. The MWB17 is designed for wheel loaders in the 10 to 15 tonne range, while the MWB23 is intended for 13 to 20 tonne machines.
Tana positions the new buckets as either a replacement for or a complement to conventional pre-shredders in waste treatment operations.
