Stadler has opened a new office in Japan, expanding its presence in a market that is increasingly focused on material recovery and recycling. The move reflects growing demand for sorting technologies as operators seek to recover more recyclable materials from waste streams, particularly plastics and municipal waste.

Capacity and operational profileRG Group has been active since 2019 and generated a turnover of around EUR 20 million in 2025. The company employs approximately 50 people. Its facilities currently process more than 20,000 tonnes per year of LDPE film, with the potential to increase capacity to over 35,000 tonnes annually. The acquisition strengthens GreenDot's position in the recycling of commercial and industrial polyethylene films.

The company will provide information on the effects of the drive on torque, throughput and process stability. In addition, WEIMA will exhibit the C.200 hydraulic press for dewatering and compacting packaging materials, metal chips, grinding sludge and sewage sludge.

The Commission presents the Package as an urgent response to the crisis in the plastics recycling sector, citing fragmented markets, high energy costs, volatile virgin plastic prices and unfair competition from third countries. Europe's plastics recycling industry is experiencing its deepest downturn on record, with a net decrease of around one million tonnes of recycling capacity in Europe by the end of 2025. This happens at the very same time as the ban on EU plastic waste exports to non-OECD countries enters into force.

The European Commission has presented a first package of pilot measures to support the transition to a circular economy in the European Union, with a thematic focus on the plastics value chain.

The study was commissioned by Every Can Counts and conducted across 16 countries with more than 16,000 participants. It indicates that circularity is becoming part of general public understanding, particularly in relation to packaging and recycling systems.
