Commission seeks views on the future Circular Economy Act

The law, to be adopted in 2026, will create an internal market for secondary raw materials and increase the supply of high-quality recycled materials. At the same time, the demand for these materials in the EU is to be boosted. This follows the recommendations of the reports by Enrico Letta and Mario Draghi, the industry (Antwerp Declaration).), the European Council (Budapest Declaration) and the European Parliament.

The Circular Economy Act will contribute to the objectives set out in the Competitiveness Compass and the Clean Industry Deal to make the EU a world leader in the circular economy by 2030 and to double the rate of the circular economy in the EU. The interested public and experts can participate in the online consultations until 6 November.
