Aimplas recognised in Australia and Japan

The recognition from the Australian Bioplastics Association (ABA) covers testing for the soil biodegradation scheme and compostability in accordance with DIN CERTCO standards. The Japanese Bioplastics Association (JBPA) has recognised Aimplas for biodegradation testing in compost and soil, disintegration testing at laboratory and pilot scale, and ecotoxicity testing in higher plants.

Broader international testing capacity

With these additions, the Aimplas Biodegradation and Compostability Laboratory continues to expand the scope of its recognised testing services. The new approvals build on recognitions obtained previously from DIN CERTCO for Europe and BPI for North America.

Aimplas also holds recognition to perform tests in accordance with EN 13432. This allows certification bodies to issue ecolabels confirming that a product is biodegradable or compostable in specific environments, including industrial composting, home composting and soil biodegradation, without adverse environmental effects.
