Not necessarily the better alternative

Plastics in general and plastic packaging in particular are increasingly suffering from a bad reputation. In many cases, the material is therefore being replaced - often with paper or cardboard in the case of packaging. The report "Disposable paper-based food packaging - the false solution to the packaging waste crisis", produced by Profundo on behalf of the Rethink Plastic Alliance, Zero Waste Europe, the European Environmental Bureau, Fern, and the Environmental Paper Network, aims to show that this is not necessarily a good idea from an environmental point of view.
