Strategic Materials, Inc., North America’s largest glass recycler, today announced the expansion of its North American manufacturing footprint by opening a new, state-of-the-art glass processing plant in Delavan, Wisconsin.

Novelis today reported net income of $307 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2018, compared to a net loss of $89 million in the prior year period. Excluding tax-affected special items in both years, the company reported net income of $78 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2018, up from $60 million reported in the second quarter of fiscal 2017.

The International Lead and Zinc Study Group held its Sixty-second Session in Lisbon, Portugal on 26-27 October 2017. The Session included a meeting of the Study Group’s Statistical and Forecasting Committee to review the current levels of world supply and demand for lead and zinc and the outlook for 2018.

Paul White has been selected by the members of the International Copper Study Group, the International Lead and Zinc Study Group and the International Nickel Study Group to serve as the new Common Secretary-General of the three Study Groups. The current Secretary-General, Don Smale, will retire from the position on 31 December 2017 and Mr White will assume his duties on 1 January 2018.

On 24 October, the European Parliament adopted its final position on the CE marked fertilising products
Regulation. FEAD welcomes the decision of the European Parliament to maintain the limit value for lead as
proposed by the European Commission (120 mg/kg dry matter). -
