CEWEP welcomes the North London Waste Authority as a new member. NLWA is responsible of waste management for the waste collected in seven London borough, amounting to approximately 850,000 tonnes a year. Complementary to re-use and recycling facilities, NLWA’s Edmonton Waste-to-Energy plant processes around 500,000 tonnes of residual waste yearly, producing enough electricity to supply 85,000 homes.

Umicore recorded a strong performance in the first half of 2017 generating revenue and earnings growth in all segments. Revenues excluding discontinued operations were up by 13% while recurring EBIT was up by 26%.

There is a strong growth in consolidated sales (+30%) driven mainly by the increase in lead (+32%) and zinc (+54%) prices by comparison with the first half of 2016.
